Thunderclan

The border patrol came back, weary, torn, and sadheartened. Those who had stayed in the camp came rushing up to them, helping the wounded, and asked "What happened?!" Then, the sad news came pouring out. The Gathering had gone well, until the end. All the clans had gone rushing away, and horrid ambushes were occuring. On their way back, those who had gone to the Gathering, including Firestar and Brambleclaw, had been slaughtered. Well, all but a few, who were barely saved by a passing border patrol, for the ambush occured right next to Thunderclan territory. They were only able to save a few cats, many of whom were now dying, both both their Deputy and their Leader had died in the skirmish.

"What will we do now?" cats wailed. "Who will lead us?" for the Deputy, Brambleclaw, who would've become Bramblestar, was dead. But the clan's decision was unanimous for who was to lead them in their current crisis. "Mapleleaf!" They shouted. But the elders and medicine cat interjected, and Mapleleaf didn't think she could take that much responsibility on her shoulders. So, it was decided she would be Deputy.

Who will lead Thunderclan, and what new glories and victories will that cat bring to the proud clan?

(srry...I'm really tired, and hastily did this. go ahead and start this topic up without me.)

Blood glistening, Mapleleaf licked her claws after the big battle. She was deputy! A huge responsibility. If only Quailflight was there!

" I will be leader" said heatfur( heatstar, this is beforehand =P)

Mapleleaf turned to Heatfur. "Are... Are you sure?" she stuttered.

Quite suddenly, a squeaking, squrming, giggling little ball of black fur shot past. Not a split second later, a growling red tom with the looks of a kit and the bulk of an older apprentice charged past, shouting threats and curses in his voice just breaking into an early adulthood. A white streak followed in suit. Oblivious to what was going on, the three continued to laugh, fight, and shout at eachother.

Mapleleaf charged after them. She bowled the black kit down, and sprang into the "white streak".

" umm... yeah. Im up for leader" said heatfur

Mapleleaf cuffed Blackkit again and looked up. "I'm your deputy."

"Ow!" squealed Blackkit. she rubbed ehr head with her paw.
"We wer'n't doin' nothin' wong, Mapoweaf!" piped up little, sweet, too-small Whitekit.

Mapleleaf smiled. "I know......"

"So what was that for, Mapleleaf?!" Blackkit asked, her grammar far too good for one their age. She heard a sound off to the side, and when she looked, she noticed Redpaw was snickering and laughing. Within that moment, she figured out he was laughing because she got in trouble, and she stuck out her tongue at him.

"you're still "in trouble", Redkit." Mapleleaf mewed.

"What!?" Redkit asked irritably.

Of course, it was silent little Whitekit who picked up the odd elated manner in their clanmate. "Wait, Mapoweaf....what did you say about a dep--depo---duput--"

"Deputy." Blackkit reminded her, then looked back at Mapleleaf, her interest sparked anew in what the warrior was saying.

"Witepaw," Mapleleaf cooed, "Bwakkit, and Wedkit, you're right. I am deputy." She looked proud.

All three kits eyes widened. Whitepaw began to run elated circles around Mapleleaf, congragulating her in her far-too-young lisp. Blackkit was celebrating as well, sending out compliments and chasing her sister. Redkit just sat there, not really knowing what to say or do. After a few seconds of this, though, Blackkit's attention span began to widen, and she began realize what this swift change in leadership meant.

Whitepaw also noticed. She saw the warriors and apprentices limping in, scarlet water on their pelts, tears in their glazed eyes. She sensed both their physical and mental pain.

Redkit was still trying to catch up with the events when a sudden shift in wind sent the scents of blood and sweat to his nose. He spun suddenly, and saw the awesomeness and bravery and bloodlust and greif in his clan. But several big things were wrong with this picture of his clan. It felt more empty than any other border battle.

Blackkit's mind raced, and before long, she knew what was going on. "So...Firestar and Brambleclaw really won't be coming back? Are they?"

But it was little Whitekit who figured out the worst first. "Where's mama?" She pleadingly asked. "Why can't I see mama? Where's Bwackweopard?"

"Not down here." Mapleleaf said gently. "But it's not like we'll ever see them again, right?"

"What?" asked Whitekit shakily. Hoping, prying to Starclan, that she understood wrong. Redkit had the same look of disbeleif. But all they needed for confirmation was to listen to Mapleleaf's following silcence and to see the look on Blacky's face. Blackkit understood every word. "No, no, my mama wouldn't weave us! She'd stay alive no matter what! She woves us too much!" Whitekit cried out, tears spilling from her icy blue eyes. Redkit held back his tears and went to his sisters, to comfort them. While they greived under his his shadowy bulk, he turned his stony gaze to Mapleleaf. "Now what?" he asked, and pleaded, at the same time.

"Um..." Mapleleaf hadn't thought.

"your mother left you. It is hard to believe. I felt the same way when my mother deid as well. it can be heart-breaking. but you must remember that she will always be watching you. she will be with you when you catch your first bit of prey and the first gathering as well. she will always be with you no matter what." said Heatfur " for now, I will be your leader." he finished

"We've heard!" Mapleleaf meowed, annoyed.

Blackkit shook away her tears. Whitekit was still a mess, and leaning against Redkit's muscular bulk for support. Blackkit then took a deep breath, and fixed her gaze on the two new leaders of Thunderclan. "How long will we have to remain in the care of another Queen? Until we become apprentices?" She asked, now taking charge of her siblings, one of whom was in a horrible mental state, the other who never had one.

"I... don't know." Mapleleaf mewed.

"Oh" mewed Blackkit, her eyes staring at her paws. Her mind zoned out for a few seconds as it went spinning off thinking of random things, memories, calculations, until her sister's grieving once again reached her ears. She had to thinik of something to pacify her sister before Whitekit ended up getting sick with grief.
Nearby, Redkit could almost hear the gears turning in his sister's head as she was thinking. He licked Whitekit's head, trying to quite her some.
