The Great Ga'Hoole Tree

Sierra licked her talons after the War of the Ember.

"so, Coryn's gone, mum?" NAgi asked Inglantine.

"yes dear." Inglantine said calmly. "but he will always be in your heart." Nagi cheered up a bit. she went off to play. "ohh, Coryn. I'll miss you" Inglantine shed one more tear.

Sierra had heard of Coryn's death. She was plenty sad, but not as sad as any owls. One owl she saw always sat on a branch, staring at the sunset wishing Coryn would come back. Some owls threatened to kill themselves after the best king's death. Soren would be the new king now. Sierra had reccommended this choice, and she was glad it was made.

Inglantine flew off from her perch at the bottom of the tree and swooped into her hollow near the way bottom of the tree. please, don't let Keen share the same fate as Coryn, please! Great Glaux, let him be save! Inglantine pleeded in her churning mind of emotion.

Sierra lay down in her hollow,facing straight up at the ceiling. She was lucky. She wasn't wounded in the war of the ember. But there was no telling in what happend to her brother Amahl... Glaux, let him be safe! she prayed.

"I'm so bored!" whinned Nagi as she flew into her mother's hollow.

"Nagi, want to go for a flight?" Inglantine asked.

"YAY!!!" Nagi hooted happily. she flew out quickly, Inglantine following her.

Sierra thought of Amahl and Argul. Her feathers bristled. Stupid Argul!

"hey! sup!" Nightlight hooted as she flew under Nagi and Inglantine. "eh, Inglantine, what beautiful wings your daughter has!' she exclaimed.

"thanks!" Nagi hooted happily. to show off, she flew up, then back down, spiraling. she hooted loudly, obiusly trying to attract owls to look at her.

Argul eyed the owl that was swooping in spirals. I can do better than that, he thought, and flew up. Argul flew through the air in loops, and them spiraled down and flipped on his back, and landed on a branch.

Nagi stared at this new owl. "WOOOOW! amasing!! how'd you do that!?" she screached.

Argul didn't reply. Instead, he did a diving spiral. When his feathers barely touched the ground, he swerved up in three loops. He then threw himself into the air and rode the currents on his back, lounging and relaxing. He then rode upside-down, talons over head. He swerved around and stopped, looking back at the barn-owl who seemed amazed with his talents to see his reaction.

"AWSOME!!! you should see my mum do tricks!!!" Nagi hooted.

"no, I'm not possibly as good as you, what's your name?" Inglantine asked the new owl.

"Argul." Argul hooted, "The same Argul... the legend-one."

"legend?" Nagi asked in wonder.

"eh, I know you! your my star!" Nightlight exclaimed happily. she flew quickly over to him.

Argul nodded. "Thanks, er..."

Nightlight's eyes sparkled.

"WHO IS HE!!!" Nagi screeched.

((what type of owl is Nightlight? barn? I forget))

Argul looked at Nagi. "I am Argul. I have beaten bobcats and have defeated the leader of St. Aggies. Is that enough?"

"oh, but what's up with the tricks?" Nagi asked. Inglantine started mini-sized circles.

"Flying is natrual." Argul replied. He swooped down over the sea, his talons brushing the water. He dove under, and came up with a fish in his beak.

well, he's still young. I'm older then him. and he's not that good! Inglantine said in her head. don't get irratated over a kid!

"woooooooooo!!!!!" Nagi screeched happily. "cool!!!!"

"I see a snowy in a hollow who is trying to ignore me!" Argul hooted sharply, peering into Sierra's hollow.

"so, when are you guys heading back to Tyto?" Nightlight asked, changing the subject.

"few days, you coming with us?" Inglantine replied.

"yep" Nightlight answered simply. Nagi burshed her talon agianst the water. she yelped.

"IT"S COLD!!!!!" Nagi exclaimed.

"It is," Argul agreed, "but fish was the only food I could eat for a while. Tyto, you say? Never been there."

"Nagi, it's not cold, watch" Inglantine said. she dove straight down into the water, went in deep, and came back up spiraling, sprinkling everyone.

"It's actually quite warm for ocean salt water." Argul hooted.
